بررسی ارتباط خارش با شدت بیماری پسوریازیس و تأثیر آن بر کیفیت زندگی در بیماران مبتلا به پسوریازیس مراجعه کننده به بیمارستان پوست رازی تهران در سال 1395-1394

Introductin:

Psoriasis is a chronic relapsing disease which has effect on life’s quality of patients. This disease has different therapeutically managements but no one is permanent. Pruritus is the most commonly occurring subjective symptom of dermatological disease. Published data on both intensity of pruritus in psoriasis and the effect on quality of life in patients is limited.

In this study we aimed to investigate the relation of pruritus with severity of psoriasis and the effect on quality of life in patients with psoriasis.

 

Methods and materials: In this cross-sectional study, 200 consecutive patients with psoriasis attending to Razi Hospital in 2015-2016 were enrolled and the association of pruritus with severity of psoriasis and the effect on quality of life in them. We used DLQI and Yosipovitch questionare to gather the data, PASI calculated and then analysis was performed.

Results: In this study, the pruritus was mild, moderate and severe in 28%, 44.5% and 27.5%. Psoriasis was mild, moderate, and severe in 27.5%, 41.5% and 31%. Quality of life was mild, moderate, and severe in 29%, 54%, and 17%. Higher severity of disease was related to hgher itching severity (P=0.0001). Higher quality of life was related to lower disease severity (P=0.0001).

Conclusion: Totally it may be concluded that pruritus in psoriasis is a very unpleasant symptom with great potential to impair patient’s quality of life and there is significant association with pruritus and severity of psoriasis.
